“Babelia & Other Stories” gathers the last works by architect and sculptor Stella Rahola Matutes (Barcelona, 1980). Curated by Glòria Bosch and Mercè Vila, the exhibition rearticulates, through its constant technical study, the different points of resistance and limitations of various materials, especially porcelain, glass, and metal.
The architect’s oeuvre becomes a construction which transmutes the limits of form, and the kind of resistance she seeks rebels itself by means of eclosion as if the engendered object would be left to hang in the air as an attempt to immortalize, like a frozen image, the most of its most absolute beauty and, thus, it could be manifested in a state of total equilibrium.
