RV Cultura e Arte
Opened in 2008 by partners Ilan Iglesias and Larissa Martina, RV Cultura e Arte is a contemporary art gallery, comic bookshop and small publishing house located in Salvador, Bahia.
Its curatorial program is mainly focused on graphic arts, especially drawing, painting, collage and printing processes, as well as emerging local and Brazilian artists. Its annual schedule includes at least four exhibitions, along with workshops, talks, guided tours and screenings that stimulate a closer relationship with the local community, collectors and other visual arts agents.
Since 2011, RV Cultura e Arte has also developed editorial projects such as artist books and graphic novels, having been nominated for prizes such as Prix de la Bande Dessinée Alternative, at the Angoulême Festival (France), in addition to educational projects for artists and audiences, such as Incubadora de Publicações Gráficas, which in 2020 carried out its second cycle of work, completing a total of 20 local artist books released.
