The HaAretz HaMuvtahat project (expression taken from the language that Jesus Christ supposedly spoke, Aramaic, and which literally means ‘the promised land’) is a recollection of biblical landscapes photographed under the filter of contemporary situations such as globalization, the society of consumption, hypertechnification, mass tourism or even the devastation of war.

Conducted over seven years across seven countries (Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Turkey) and documenting some of humanity’s oldest continuously inhabited populations such as Jerusalem, Jericho, Nazareth, Bethlem, Beirut or Damascus, HaAretz HaMuvtahat aims to be a reflection on the possible evolution (or involution) of an ancestral region, cradle of civilizations and in particular of the ferocious power of the capitalism-technology binomial that reigns today on the horizon of postmodernity.
