Teoria da cor - Miguel Rio Branco

Teoria da Cor is an extensive catalog published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name presented at Estação Pinacoteca, São Paulo, Brazil, between April and July, 2014. Designed by Miguel Rio Branco, it covered works from the beginning of his career in the 1960’s, until 2012. Housed in a slipcase, the catalog includes a separate 31 pp. booklet with a long interview with the artist. The selection includes photographs, installations, objects and paintings with collages that demonstrate the variety of solutions and techniques used by the artist in the construction of his works. Rio Branco’s entire oeuvre is contaminated by an atmosphere of pleasure and pain, drama and lyricism. Among the highlights of the exhibition are the first works produced by Miguel Rio Branco, ‘Diálogos com Amaú’, an installation from 1983, and ´Entre os Olhos o Deserto´, produced along the border of the United States and Mexico in 1998.
