“The contradiction of wanting to portray with a camera that which cannot be seen with the eyes is just one of the many contradictions that have led me to publish this book. Between 2011 and 2014 I visited the Valley of the Fallen on numerous occasions with the intention of knowing, seeing and understanding what has remained hidden for those of us who were born after the transition and have grown up in democracy. A democracy to which today we believe we have overcome, and which is now seeing the reappearance of specters and apparitions that we thought we had overcome.
Flowers For Franco is the piece that closes the trilogy of books begun with PAIN and followed by DEVOTOS. A book that, like its predecessors, wants to appeal to who we are as a society. Forty-seven photographs follow one after the other in a dark and complex story. This time the design of the book is by Tres Tipos Gráficos. Inspired by a missal, Flowers for Franco is a book of stories and prayers in which the writer Llucia Ramis Laloux has participated”.
