Mayte Vieta’s exhibition at the Vila Casas Foundation Espai Volart 2 is compiled in this catalog. Drawn into the desire to capture the ingravity of the body in the sea darkness, the lightness of matter, and the disturbing silence of solitude, Vieta reflects in her images the spectral quality of the levitating body. Conceived during the night of May in 2009 on the Blanes coast, this photographic project contains a strong metaphorical charge around the cycle of life, one of the recurring themes in the artist’s trajectory.
