ArtsLibris ARCOlisboa 2025

May 29 – June 1 2025

The 7th edition of ArtsLibris ARCOlisboa, the International Fair of Artist’s Books, Photobooks and Self-Publishing, brings together over 30 publishers this year.

ArtsLibris is a space for exchange and dialogue between editorial and artistic communities, aiming to showcase the value and possibilities of printed material — containing writing, photography, drawing, engraving, or other forms — as a creative medium in itself.

Dialogue, experimentation, and innovation are the main hallmarks of ArtsLibris, a project that holds a special place within ARCOlisboa, as it is both a fair and a celebration of these publications as artistic media. This is embodied in the Foro (Forum), a program of talks and presentations.

The artist’s book is a democratic and empathetic medium to access contemporary art. Through its collaboration with ARCO, the project has established itself as a platform that brings contemporary art closer to the general public, especially younger generations, promoting collecting through a diverse and rigorous editorial community. It creates new meeting points between art and society through publications — artifacts that reflect artistic practices.

These spaces for dialogue have brought together a wide range of voices and renowned critics, artists, collectors, and specialists, who advocate for the diversity of languages and continually renew the perspective on creative and commercial processes within the editorial field. Since its inception, ArtsLibris has gathered more than 350 publishers, demonstrating the potential and future of publications in these formats.

Founded in Barcelona in 2009, ArtsLibris is a fair specializing in artist’s books, photobooks, contemporary thought, and self-publishing. In 2025, in addition to its editions at MACBA in Barcelona, ARCOmadrid, and ARCOlisboa, it will also be present at FIL Guadalajara, the International Book Fair of Guadalajara (Mexico).

This positions ArtsLibris as the leading fair dedicated to artist’s publications in the Ibero-American context, and the only Spanish fair specifically focused on this editorial sector.

Since 2020, ArtsLibris has operated a digital bookstore and a permanent, dynamic, and innovative physical space — the ArtsLibris Bookstore in Barcelona.
