ArtsLibris Barcelona, the International Fair for Artist Books, Photobooks, and Self-Publishing, will take place on November 15, 16, and 17 at the MACBA.
This year, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of ArtsLibris, we would like to invite you to participate in this very special edition.
ArtsLibris offers a unique opportunity to present your publishing project to the public and meet with colleagues in the professional sector, with the aim of establishing the necessary synergies to grow the cultural fabric of our environment.
The spaces where the stands will be located are the Capella, the Sala Gòtica, and the Auditori. The Seminar and Speakers Corner sessions will be held in the Auditori.

Books for Reflecting on the Contemporary Image
12:00 – 13:30 / PANEL 1: Editing and design.
Tifanny Jones. Founder of Overlapse, a photobook publisher based in London that began in 2015 while researching the “Photobook Market Dynamics” for her Master’s in Publishing at Oxford Brookes University.
Alex Llovet. Founder and editor of Ediciones Posibles, publishing house specialised in photobooks. He studied Humanities at UAB, film directing and photography at IEFC. He has published seven photobooks and a novel, which have garnered numerous national and international awards.
Moderator Natasha Christia. Curator, lecturer and writer.

Ingrid Guardiola. Holds a PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University, a professor at the University of Girona, essayist, audiovisual producer, and cultural researcher. Since May 2021, she has been the Director of Bòlit – Centre d’Art Contemporani de Girona.
Jose Luis Neves. Photobook expert, curator of the Belfast Exposed Gallery in Northern Ireland, and Senior Lecturer in Photography at the University of Northampton and Ulster University, UK. Between 2010 and 2012, he worked at the Wilson Centre for Photography in London as an assistant curator.
Moderator: Ángela Molina. Philologist and art historian, with a degree in Spanish Philology and a PhD in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and specialises in feminist theory and gender studies.

Presentation of the book PICASSO-BARCELONA. Una cartografía, by Claustre Rafart i Planas, awarded in the previous edition of the Ministry of Culture’s Best Edited Book Prize. Presented by Mª José Gàlvez, Director General of Books, Comics and Reading, Emmanuel Guigon, director of the Picasso Museum, Maribel López, director of ARCO, and Rocío Santa Cruz, director of ArtsLibris.

Presentation of Hangar’s Text Collection, a support program amplifying artistic practices through the creation of a fund of monographic texts by residents. Led by Carolina Jiménez, head of research at Hangar, and three of the Collection’s authors: Vera Martín Zelich, curator and independent writer; Ericka Flórez, curator and artistic director of Lugar a Dudas (Cali); and Marta Sesé, independent curator and editorial coordinator at MACBA.

Presentation of the artist’s book Inviting Life, an intervention at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion by students of the Master’s Degree in Ephemeral Architecture and Temporary Spaces at Elisava (MEATS), led by professors Stella Rahola Matutes and Roger Paez. The two professors, graphic designer Albert Romagosa, and photographer Aleix Plademunt will discuss translating Pavilion research into a publication that also includes a poem by Vicenç Altaió and an article by Ona Bros.

ArtsLibris Award
Banco Sabadell
Every year, ArtsLibris awards the ArtsLibris Banc Sabadell Award. This prize consists of the acquisition and incorporation into the Col·lecció d’Art del Banc Sabadell of the editions selected by jury. The award seeks to donate support to publications that propose an original connection between ideas and visual contingents, that work with innovative publishing formats and that propose innovative aesthetic and conceptual contingents.
The jury for the 2024 Banc Sabadell Foundation ArtsLibris Award is made up of: Antonio Alcaraz, Montserrat Corominas, Pepe Font de Mora, Moritz Kung, Ángela Molina and Marta Vega.
Eloi Gimeno Award
to the best Photobook
This year, for the sthird time, ArtsLibris, together with the Foto Colectania Foundation and in collaboration with the Friends of Eloi Gimeno Association, will award the Eloi Gimeno Award for the best Photobook among the contestants at the ArtsLibris Barcelona 2024 fair. The career of this artist revitalized Spanish photography through through photobooks, assuming aesthetic risks, self-publishing, elegantly working on the design of their books and launching processes of collective creation.
AL Series
The AL Series is a collection of artist’s books produced and edited by ArtsLibris.
It was launched with the aim of promoting the publication of new work by artists who have shown, in their previous production, a clear interest in the field of artist’s books.
This year, the artist chosen for the publication of the AL Series is Fina Miralles (Sabadell, 1990) with her book Avec Plaisir, which brings together poems and photos by the artist and has been designed by Alex Gifreu.
So far, the award-winning artists have been Oriol Vilanova (Manresa, 1980), Iñaki Bonillas (Mexico City, 1981), Martín Vitaliti (Buenos Aires, 1978), Javier Peñafiel (Zaragoza, 1964), Wilfredo Prieto (Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, 1978), Mariana Cast (Mexico City, 1975), Itziar Okariz (San Sebastian, 1965) and Mabel Palacín (Barcelona, 1965)
ArtsLibris Editions
ArtsLibris expands its collection of gloves with the creation of Mari Chordà (Amposta, 1942).
This year the cotton bags are a tribute to Colita.
Exhibition
This Story Will Never Get Finished

The Mediterranean occupies a central position in This Story Will Never Get Finished. The exhibition, which brings together some thirty International photobooks, operates as a living trace of narratives, imaginaries, voices or even autobiographical memories about the Mediterranean Sea, its cultural and human trace.
Exhibition produced by the Museu de l’Art Modern de Tarragona (MAMT) as part of SCAN International Photography Festival 2023.
