El seu inter\u00e8s per la radiaci\u00f3 i la visualitzaci\u00f3 de fen\u00f2mens f\u00edsics el va portar al Centre Geof\u00edsic del RMI (Institut Reial Meteorol\u00f2gic) a Dourbes. Una inspiraci\u00f3 addicional per a la seva obra va ser la conviv\u00e8ncia entre els nombrosos instruments cient\u00edfics que registren cont\u00ednuament esdeveniments que tenen lloc en punts llunyans (al Sol, a l\u2019espai interplanetari i a la magnetosfera) o al nucli de la Terra, i la natura intacta de l\u2019entorn.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"759\">L\u2019oportunitat de dedicar aquest llibre al 70\u00e8 aniversari del centre va sorgir de manera natural, i s\u2019hi ha incl\u00f2s tamb\u00e9 una breu hist\u00f2ria del mateix.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"1541\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">L\u2019obra de Bram Van Stappen q\u00fcestiona el mateix mitj\u00e0 fotogr\u00e0fic. Escaneja element rere element d\u2019imatge, tema rere tema, alterna entre l\u2019abstracci\u00f3 i la figuraci\u00f3, i se centra en la materialitat del subjecte o de la impressi\u00f3. Busca la singularitat d\u2019una imatge o intenta arribar a un arquetip mitjan\u00e7ant la repetici\u00f3 obsessiva. Utilitza des de c\u00e0meres de format mitj\u00e0 fins a c\u00e0meres senzilles i econ\u00f2miques per captar all\u00f2 quotidi\u00e0, a vegades irreal, i extreure\u2019n un microcosmos comprensible a partir d\u2019un conjunt complex d\u2019impressions, atmosferes, persones, llocs i situacions.
