Va n\u00e9ixer en Xalapa Veracruz en 1938; va estudiar arquitectura en la Universidad Veracruzana i disseny gr\u00e0fic en The School of Visual Arts de Nova York. En 1968 va fundar la revista d&#8217;humor La Garrapata, juntament amb Eduardo del R\u00edo (Rius), Rogelio Naranjo i Emilio Abdal\u00e1 (AB) i va col\u00b7laborar en Novedades, <em>El Mitote Ilustrado, Siempre!, Ovaciones y \u00bfPor qu\u00e9?<\/em> Des de 1971 treballa com a editorialista gr\u00e0fic en el diari El Universal i, espor\u00e0dicament, col\u00b7labora per a El Chamuco.<\/p>\n<p>Helio \u00e9s el caricaturista mexic\u00e0 que m\u00e9s reconeixements ha rebut: ha obtingut quatre vegades el Premi Nacional de Periodisme i ha estat guardonat amb premis en concursos internacionals del Canad\u00e0, Turquia, Gr\u00e8cia, Bulg\u00e0ria, Cuba i Iugosl\u00e0via. En 2017 va rebre per part del Govern de la Ciutat de M\u00e8xic i del Museu del Estanquillo el Reconeixement de Caricatura Gabriel Vargas. \u2013Rafael Barajas (El Fisg\u00f3n).<\/p>\n<p>Alias lliura al seu p\u00fablic un recorregut per m\u00e9s de cinc d\u00e8cades en l&#8217;obra d&#8217;un dels principals hereus de la gr\u00e0fica pol\u00edtica mexicana a trav\u00e9s d&#8217;una selecci\u00f3 de 256 cartons del mestre Helioflores, realitzats entre 1968 i 2022. Prologada per Pedro Miguel i acompanyada d&#8217;una entrevista per Gerardo Lammers, aquesta edici\u00f3 conforma un afectu\u00f3s homenatge a l&#8217;imprescindible monero mexic\u00e0. Agra\u00efm el gener\u00f3s suport de l&#8217;Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura (ivec) i el Museu de Estanquillo per a la realitzaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquest projecte.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 \u00abA nivell period\u00edstic, tal vegada el m\u00e9s notable de la seva obra \u00e9s el seu esperit cr\u00edtic i el seu profund coneixement de la societat mexicana.
